I retired from the U.S. Navy in 1995 and believe this organization is a life saver for the junior enlisted and their families. Several times the USO stepped in to help one of my sailors, in a caring manner, that needed some financial assistance. Service people tend to be hesitant to ask for help. When we hit port during long deployments the USO was a known safe place for sailors to relax and maybe make a call home. The shows were pretty good too! The Liberty USO is keeping that caring, supportive tradition well.
